Record year of giving for ATL
31 July 2015
Churches and charities all over the British Isles have benefitted from grants totalling £9.7million from Allchurches Trust Limited in 2014, a record year of giving by the charity.
Around £6.9million was given to the Dioceses and Cathedrals of the Church of England to support funding for training, resources for mission and ministry, educational projects and repairs and maintenance of cathedrals.
The remainder, £2.8million, has been given as grants to churches of different denominations and charities for a wide variety of Christian causes.
ATL can support Christian projects in this way because it owns a successful business, Ecclesiastical Insurance Office plc, and thanks to the hard work of Ecclesiastical’s board and staff, and the loyalty of its customers, more communities in 2014 benefitted than ever before from ATL grants.
ATL Relationship and Grants manager Philip Arundel said: “I have seen first hand the commitment of Christian communities to reach people who are in great need, for all sorts of reasons. I’ve also seen how our grants can help invest in developing people’s Christian vocation, or go towards paying for vital resources that help grow the ministry of churches, which is so much a part of community life across the land.
